[TAG] The Blogger Love Tag

Hello again everyone!  After reading the fun responses by the lovely Helen at the lovecatsinc, I decided to do it as well, and it was nice to reflect back on so many of the blogs I read.

What was the first blog you ever came across?

Hm, this one is a bit of a difficult question to answer because I read so many blogs back when I first started my own back in the good old Xanga days.  Most of them don't really blog anymore and I have long since deleted my account.  I would say that the first beauty blog I ever came across was Michelle Phan's Xanga blog.  She was my very first makeup and beauty inspired blog interest.  She had lovely photos, awesome photo tutorials for different makeup looks and she always provided really great detail in product reviews and offered really awesome beauty DIYs back in the day.  She was still in art school I think, and I really admired her artwork.

Favorite blog reads?

I have so many!  I believe I follow/read 100+ blogs via Bloglovin'.  I read all of them when I have a minute to just relax because I enjoy everything that all of the bloggers I follow post and it really is a stress reliever. I would love to name all 100+, but I'll go with the blogs I frequent the most to keep the list short, and please note this isn't in any particular order.  I'm sorry I couldn't name all of you!

I have followed Jen at frmheadtotoe for years!  She is one of my absolute favorite bloggers and the main reason for some of the products I have dubbed my personal HG's.  She's also super down to earth, has a fun bubbly personality and is totally sincere and genuine.  I just love her fashion style as well!

Another blogger I have followed for years is Eki at ekiBlog.  She is an amazingly talented crafter, makeup guru and artist.  Her artwork is just breath taking, I just love her drawing style.  She also is adorably fashionable and probably one of the sweetest bloggers out there.  I actually purchased a bracelet from her shop and with my order I received candy, and a personal hand-written note thanking me for my purchase.  She truly is a sweetheart and truly sincere.  She's been on a long hiatus, but I still find myself checking her old blog posts and checking regularly for new updates.  I am pleased to report that she's updated her Instagram more lately and I'm so happy to know she is well. ♥

Another one of my all time favorite bloggers is Bubz at bubzbeauty also known as the lovely Lindy.  I've followed her for about as long as I've followed Michelle Phan (which is basically from the beginning early 2008?)  Bubz has always been one of my favorites because she is distinctly positive and cheerful and that type of personality is contagious in the best way possible.  She provides wonderful makeup tutorials, fashion posts, life lessons and advice and wisdom.  She's the total package, small and adorable and packed full of cheer and positivity!  She's moving along in her pregnancy and has been vlogging regularly.  One of the most important things and main reasons why I've followed Lindy as long as I have is her sincere love for her readers and supporters.  It's like she's made BFF's with everyone who watches her on Youtube or reads her blogs.  She's also an honest entrepreneur which I admire so!

Cassey Ho at Blogilates has a special place in my blogger heart because she is the epitome of drive, motivation and inspiration!  I am not by any means a health-nut, but I am truly inspired by her to live a healthier and more active lifestyle.  She gives the best motivation and her work outs are by far some of the best and most fun!  Definitely check her out!  She also exudes a sincere love for her supporters and followers as well, her community of POPsters are amazing and she is just such a role model!

June at junniku is amazingly funny and just oh so entertaining!!!  I stumbled upon her blog one day and haven't looked back since.  She's super adorable, sweet, charming, friendly, beautiful and did I mention already, she's funny?!  Her blog posts are just so much fun to read, her sense of humor is probably my most favorite thing about her.  Her writing style is also very specific and I find that her posts are some of my most favorite to read.  She also provides visually interesting animated GIFS on her posts which are iconic to her in my opinion.  She is also sincere and genuine as well and you can trust that her product reviews are most detailed and crazy informative.  She's definitely one of my go-to's for researching Korean products.  She was kind enough to send me a package of goodies for following her from the start, what an honor it is to blog along side such a wonderful human being.

Bella at everythingaboutbella is a stand out blogger!  I will say what is most iconic, memorable and my most favorite thing about her blog is her photos.  Bella's photos are amazingly beautiful, they are always bright and clear, and she's beautiful to boot!  She provides wonderful product reviews and always provides awesome product photos and swatches.  She's created some lovely makeup looks as well, she is definitely worth checking out!  I have also really been enjoying some of her more recent posts as they have been amazing collabs with other bloggers and k-pop inspired, and who doesn't love a k-pop inspired look?!

Mei at icepandora is truly a gem!  I was delighted by her lovely photos as well.  She definitely has a knack for photography, as well as a lovely sense of style.  I believe my favorite thing about her blog is her eye for hand-crafted things, fashion sense and her love of food and experimenting with it.  She has provided readers with lovely tutorials, recipes, and DIY's.  I will say my fave posts by Mei are probably her baking and food adventures!  Kind, stylish and love for food all in one blog-package!

Last but definitely and absolutely not least is Steph at funsizebeauty.  My favorite mini Canadian blogger and her blog is a fun sized and adorably small package!  She reviews various types and brands of products, is honest and sincere in her reviews, and offers diverse posts!  She is sweet, adorable and lovely all around!  I enjoy her more lifestyle themed posts when she shares her different dining experiences (because we all love that food porn) and she offers detailed and informative product reviews, as well as gorgeously detailed photos to boot!  I just love her fun sized personality!

Best blogging friend?

I suppose I would consider all of my fellow bloggers and bloggers I follow blogging friends, but if you mean someone I know personally in real life (lol) then I have to say sadly I do not have one.  I think the closest blogger I could consider a blogging friend would be June at junniku.  I like to think that we consistently support each other's blogs by commenting and keeping in touch via Twitter as well.  She's also the only other blogger I've ever received anything from and it was totally unexpected!  You're pretty awesome June, I you gurrfran! \(^.^ )/

Name a blog that enables your purchases?

Jen!  I am 100% positive that 95% of the things I purchased are because I read a review, saw a swatch or she said it was amazing and I went and bought it haha!  I have never been disappointed by anything I decided to buy or use based on her recommendation. (^.^ );;;

5 blogs everyone should be reading?

Urgh, I hate only picking some.  I'll be naming blogs I personally have found to be helpful, and yes some of which I have already mentioned.  Again, in no particular order.

  1. Jen at frmheadtotoe
  2. June at junniku
  3. Christine at xteeener
  4. K.L at secretlifeofabionerd
  5. Cassey at blogilates

Blogs that inspire you?

Pretty much every single one I read and follow.  Again, too many to name, but the people already listed on this post are definitely major influences and inspirations.  I think it's only fitting to mention Michelle Phan because she was the spark of my interest in beauty related things from the beginning and her story is truly inspiring.

Favorite blog design or look?

I don't have any specific blogger in particular that I favor their design over others, so I'll keep this answer a general one.  I quite enjoy the minimalist look.  Layouts or designs that are simple and clean are probably my most favorite.  With getting into web design, I have found that I really love the simplicity of clean and well organized designs.  They're usually easier to read, much easier to navigate and search for things.  It also provides a nice atmosphere for the blog, and with a less busy design, it has less chance of taking away from your content.  Usually upon visiting blogs, I am guilty of closing that window if the design is too busy.  I'll be honest and say that most of the time I don't even give their content a chance if their design is too distracting. (;_; )

Name a blogger that you would most like to see write a book in the future.

I would consider her a blogger even though I would consider her more of a Youtuber, but she already has books out, but I feel she is noteworthy nonetheless.  I really enjoy Pony's Beauty Diary videos on Youtube and would love to have one of her books.  Her makeup is always so clean and beautiful.  She's definitely photogenic and I just love her fun and bubbly personality on video.  She seems so sweet.  I definitely stalk her on Instagram.  She also models some lovely things on YesStyle.com for Kitsch Island.

I would also love to see Cassey at blogilates come out with a book!  I believe she is working on one and I'm so excited.  She is a true inspiration for living a healthier lifestyle and I just cannot wait for that milestone for her!

Alright everyone!  That's it for this tag!  Let me know in the comments who some of your favorite bloggers are?  Any suggestions, I always love discovering new bloggers!  Feel free to do this tag too!  I tag all of you, please let me know in the comments if  you do the tag so I can check it out!  Also, should you check out any of the blogs mentioned tell them I sent you!

Until next time everyone, enjoy the rest of your weekend! ♥  (^.~ )v

Emerald City Comiccon 2014

Hey everyone!  I just wanted to do a quick post.  I have been super busy of course, with school and work.  However, I did find the time to attend the local Comic Convention in Seattle a weekend or two ago!  Unfortunately, I do not have too many photos of cosplayers or cosplay, and I'm totally bummed!  I spent most of my time in lines to get things sign for the hubby as well as meet some amazing artists, and attending some awesome panels!  So inspiring!  BUT, my highlight of the day was getting to meet one of my music heroes.  If you didn't know, one of my all time favorite bands is Coheed and Cambria.  I was lucky enough to meet and snag a photo op with Claudio and his lovely wife Chondra.  Super sweet couple, and insanely talented and artistic.. I'm jelly.  Anywho, I didn't think I'd get starstruck, but all I could do was grin like an idiot and manage to word-vomit "you're amazing live" lolwut!?!?!  Even still, it was an amazing experience and I hope to be able to cross paths with such amazing people again.

Tell me in the comments, have you ever met your hero, a star, someone famous, or someone you really admired?  Did you get starstruck?  Also, who would you like to meet someday?  Will post again real soon, until then! (^.~ )v
